Wingate Elementary School

Mascoutah CUSD #19 selected Poettker Construction Company as the Construction Manager for the construction of their new 112,000 SF elementary school in Belleville, Illinois.
The new elementary school consists of four “houses” with connecting hallways. Additionally, the two-story houses feature a brick and stone façade with light stone/dark brick banding and glass storefront curtain walls. Also, the school features classrooms, conference rooms, a two-story media center, computer labs, offices, an occupational/physical therapy, and storage areas.
The center of each house includes an extended learning classroom for students to work on experiments and activities. Furthermore, one house includes a gymnasium, multi-purpose room, stage area, cafeteria, dining faculty and a full-service kitchen. Removable partitions enable these areas to become one large space.
This school construction project featured an extensive site work package including mine mitigation.
