Arcola Elementary School Addition & Renovation
Location: Arcola, IL | Owner: Arcola CUSD #306 | Architect: Graham & Hyde Architects
Poettker was selected as the Construction Manager at Risk for an 18,814-SF addition and renovation to the Arcola Elementary School that was in need of substantial renovations to the more than 50 year old building and due to expanded intervention programs that required smaller classroom space.
Key project components included:
- New front elementary entrance, new reception/waiting area and hallway expansion designed with security in mind;
- New main office, staff offices, a conference room, and three smaller classroom spaces;
- Transforming the current office and part of the staff workroom into new restrooms;
- Expansion of the nurse area to allow for better attention to student needs;
- Replacement of asphalt by the newly renovated preschool playground
- Floor and ceiling tile replacement in all elementary hallways and current cafeteria area
- Renovation of all hallway and cafeteria wall finishes
The Poettker team did an amazing job during our recent second floor construction project. The second floor construction project was a unique challenge as the first floor renovation and the second floor construction needed to be completed in a short window so the first floor could be used for classes. Poettker’s team kept the project moving so it finished on time and under budget. We were so impressed with their work that our Board wanted Poettker to manage our upcoming renovation project which also brings certain timeline constraints. We’re excited to be working with the Poettker team again on this project.
