South Central CUSD #401 selected Poettker Construction as the Construction Manager for the additions and renovations to the existing high school in Farina, Illinois.
The high school project entailed a 31,090 SF addition and multi-phased renovation including six (6) classrooms, a new cafeteria, kitchen, stage, and new core areas. Prior to construction, an existing 1941 gymnasium, which was converted into classrooms in 1974, was demolished. The addition consists of both steel and masonry bearing construction. The site work package included a large concrete parking lot and utility relocation and extensions necessary for the building addition.

Blended New Construction with Existing
We relied heavily on Poettker’s leadership, preconstruction, and cost consulting professionals to guide us through the State funding stall, which lasted nearly one year. The Poettker Team collaborated with the school district, design partners, and local trade contractors to determine all cost-saving options to keep the high school project within budget without sacrificing the new facilities we dreamed about for years.
