Poettker Construction is one of the largest general contractors in St. Louis, according to the St. Louis Business Journal, as well as in Charlotte, NC, according to the Charlotte Business Journal.

St. Louis’ No. 6 Largest General Contractor

St. Louis’ 20 largest general contractors amassed more than $5.8 billion in local revenue. Headquartered in Breese, IL, Poettker Construction falls squarely in the St. Louis region surveyed for the list. Poettker Construction climbed from the seventh spot on last year’s list to the the sixth spot on the 2025 list. The company’s Midwest employee base also increased from 198 to 218.

Charlotte’s No. 33 Largest General Contractor

The six largest general contractors in Charlotte earned more than $400 million in 2024 to earn a spot on the Charlotte Business Journal‘s list. Poettker Construction opened its Southeast office in Charlotte, NC in 2019, and Keith Poettker, Chairman & CEO, moved there to manage its operations.
