Four adults present a giant check to a woman

ST. LOUIS (September 9, 2026) – Poettker Construction and Poettker Industrial Services raised $50,000 benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois (BBBSIL) and local charities through its Poettker Annual Golf Classic. Held at the Roland Barkau Memorial Golf Course in Okawville, Ill., the golf classic has generated over $450,000 for charity since the event began 13 years ago.

“Our Poettker Annual Golf Classic is one of my favorite traditions because it brings together employees, partners, clients, and friends for a good cause,” said Kevin Poettker, vice president of business development at Poettker Construction and BBBSIL board member. “Giving back is a core part of who we are as a family-owned company. Supporting organizations that serve local children and families is one way we can help build a stronger future for the communities where we operate. We thank our clients, partners, employees, and community supporters for their sponsorship and participation in making this a successful event that makes a difference in our communities.”

With 69 golf teams participating, the Poettker Annual Golf Classic again reached capacity.

“For more than a decade, Poettker Construction has demonstrated what it truly means to invest in our community through its dedicated support of Big Brothers Big Sisters,” said Brianna Anderson, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois. “It’s easy to underestimate the impact of having someone consistently in your corner until you imagine life without that person. For too many local youth, a Big becomes that trusted mentor, biggest cheerleader, and consistent source of support. We are incredibly grateful for Poettker’s long-standing partnership and for everyone who makes this tournament possible because together, we are changing the trajectory of a child’s life.”
