Ryan Poettker, President of Poettker Construction, was nominated and named the 2023 President of Central Illinois Builders of AGC. CIB is a local chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America, founded in 1955. The organization represents contractors in 46 counties throughout Central Illinois. CIB-AGC held its annual meeting in Champaign on January 20 in which 21 members were elected officers for the association for 2023.

In his role as Chapter President, Poettker will direct the association alongside the other executive committee members. “I am honored to be elected CIB President for 2023 and am committed to serving our members and representing the construction industry,” stated Poettker during the annual meeting.

CIB was initially founded to act as a representative to management regarding labor relations. To this day, labor relations is the organization’s priority while also being involved with legislation within the Illinois General Assembly, safety programs, education, public agency liaison, and design industry relations. CIB is one of 89 chapters associated with AGC.

“Regardless if your business is large or small, we are all facing some significant challenges ahead of us, whether it’s workforce shortages, supply chain issues, safety in the workplace, and many others,” added Poettker. “It will take our entire industry coming together to provide solutions to these issues, and I look forward to facilitating those discussions.”
