Poettker Construction Company, a second-generation family and veteran-owned construction company, alongside its design/build team, led by FGM Architects, Inc., recently completed the new $31.8 million Pierce Terrace Elementary School in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, the U.S. Army’s largest basic training installation.
Building a new warehouse on a more than 100-year-old confined medical campus proved to be a logistical challenge for officials at Jefferson Barracks.
Work is nearly halfway complete on the Pierce Terrace Elementary School at Fort Jackson, S.C. The new pre-K through second grade Department of Defense Education Activity school replaces the existing aging facility.
It’s rare that a construction company is well ahead of schedule on a project. But that is the case with the Zodiac-Poettker joint venture project at Robins Air Force Base, Ga. This is the latest undertaking of the partnership formed by Poettker Construction of Breese, Ill., and Zodiac Inc. of St. Louis.
Together with the Department of Veterans Affairs representatives, the architect and site construction workers, Poettker Construction Company celebrated the steel topping out milestone at the Jefferson Barracks VA Engineering Warehouse during a ceremony on September 7, 2017.
