The St. Louis Business Journal named Poettker Construction, an award-winning, family-owned business headquartered in Breese, IL, the eighth largest business in the St. Louis Metro East. Businesses in St. Clair, Madison, Jersey, Clinton, Calhoun, Macoupin, Bond, and Monroe counties in Illinois were considered for the list. The rankings are based on these businesses’ 2023 companywide revenue volume.

Poettker Construction increased its 2023 standing of 11th place and a 2022 companywide revenue volume of $371 million to 8th place in 2024 with a 2023 companywide revenue volume of $420 million.

In the 2023 rankings, Poettker Construction had 218 local employees and a grand total of 264 employees. Poettker managed to accomplish the substantial increase in annual revenue with a smaller workforce. The 2024 rankings cite that Poettker employs 198 locals and 228 employees total.
