VA Kansas City Mental Health Clinic

Poettker Construction Company was selected by the Department of Veterans Affairs to construct a single-story addition and renovation to the existing Mental Health Outpatient Clinic at the Kansas City VA Medical Center.
This project consisted of a 2,100 SF addition and the renovation of 7,680 SF on the east side of Building 1 near the emergency entrance.
Renovation included:
- revised reception and waiting area
- relocated group room to be adjacent to the waiting area
- reconfigured medical/treatment/triage areas to accommodate additional patients
- renovated restrooms to comply with codes
- updated finishes
The Poettker Team worked closely with the Department of Veterans Affairs, architect, and subcontractors to implement a construction phasing and infectious control plan that limits disturbances to operations and ensures the safety of patients and staff.
