SIUE School of Dental Medicine Advanced Care Clinic

Location:  Alton, IL     Owner: Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville     Architect: FGM Architects, Inc.

Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville selected Poettker Construction for the new construction of the Advanced Care Clinic at the School of Dental Medicine (SDM) in Alton, IL.

This innovative clinical space will provide state-of-the-art accommodations for the SDM to facilitate treatment for its most vulnerable patient population: children who require general anesthesia to complete care. Additionally, the Advanced Care Clinic will allow the SDM to expand and enhance its post-doctoral specialty programs.

This building addition connects to the Multiple-Disciplinary Laboratory, which Poettker constructed in 2013.

This project required close communication with the owner, architect, and jurisdictional authorities to ensure the project was completed on schedule with limited disruptions to the students who occupied the adjacent buildings.

Facility constructed to meet LEED Silver standards.

I have found that having the right team is critical in dealing with a complex project as this one. The SIU School of Dental Medicine was honored and thankful to have Poettker Construction as the lead partner to run the team of contractors to create our new facility. Every construction project has its ups and downs on issues that do not go exactly how they were originally planned. Poettker Construction was a great partner to help at every step during the process.
