Camp Lejeune H-Style Building Renovations

Location:  Camp Lejeune, NC      Owner: NAVFAC    |    Client:  Environmental Chemical Corporation

Following the aftereffects of Hurricane Florence, Poettker Construction was contracted to restore damages to Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC. Damages totaled over $3.6 billion with most of the significant damage including roof, exterior, and water damage.

This Design-Build full building renovation effort repaired all damage caused to four historic H-Style Buildings. Interior construction included new enclosed & open office areas, break rooms, conference areas, secure storage areas, code-compliant stairs, toilets/showers, all new interior partitions, doors, restrooms, ceilings, flooring, & finishes. A temporary satellite office complex created to relocate all H-Style building employees until construction was complete.

The building renovation was designed to meet 150 MPH wind per the Uniform Building Code for NC coastal regions, while exterior load-bearing studs were added to meet updated hurricane requirements.

Poettker simultaneously worked on the following Camp Lejeune projects to repair the damage incurred as a result of Hurricane Florence:
