The Illinois Air National Guard selected Poettker Construction and its small business partner to lead the critical repair and modernization of the P-1 Hangar at Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport. This facility supports the Centralized Repair Facility (CRF), which plays a vital role in testing and rebuilding jet engines using advanced aircraft manufacturing equipment. The project focused on enhancing the building’s performance, safety, and operational efficiency. Key project components included:

  • Major interior and exterior renovations to improve energy efficiency and functionality
  • Upgrades to existing mechanical, electrical, and building systems
  • Full replacement of all windows with blast-proof units to meet AT/FP (Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection) standards
  • Enhanced building envelope to support mission-critical CRF operations
