POETTKER WINS TOP ABC CONTRACTOR AWARDS
The Associated Builders and Contractors awarded Poettker Construction, a family-owned company headquartered in Breese, IL, the No. 102 spot on its Top 250 Performers list. Winning companies must demonstrate excellence in safety, quality, inclusion, project excellence, and special designations ranked by number of hours worked.

To qualify, Top Performers must achieve Gold status or higher in ABC’s STEP Safety Management System, which helps the best-performing contractors achieve incident rates nearly seven times safer than the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics industry average, according to ABC’s Safety Performance Report. The majority of the honorees also must earn ABC’s Accredited Quality Contractor credential, which recognizes excellence in quality, safety performance, talent management — including inclusion, diversity and merit — craft and management education and community relations. Through credentials like STEP, AQC and other robust programs, ABC Top Performers demonstrate they:

No. 3 Top Retail Contractors
Poettker Construction made the incredible accomplishment of earning the title of third Top Retail Contractor, an increase from the fifth position from the previous year. Poettker’s retail clients range from local businesses with a single location to franchise organizations with stores across the country.
Poettker manages interior buildouts, new store rollouts, renovations, retrofits, and site developments while maintaining a primary focus on safety, quality control, scheduling, and budget management for all sizes of projects.
No. 16 Top Military Contractors
Poettker climbed from No. 20 to the No. 16 position on ABC’s Top Military Contractors list. Specializing in design-build, design-bid-build, multi-award contracts, and self-perform services for defense projects, Poettker executes a variety of military projects with an adept understanding of the intricate approval process.
No. 51 Top General Contractors
Poettker Construction achieved the No. 51 spot on ABC’s list of Top General Contractors. Winners include member general contractors who achieved STEP Gold or higher and earned ABC’s AQC credential in 2023, ranked by work hours.
