Jefferson Barracks VA Engineering Warehouse & Campus Operations Center

Location:  St. Louis, MO     Owner: VA Office of Construction & Facility Management – Central Region     Architect: Christner

This project served to consolidate the service operations of the Jefferson Barracks VA Medical Center into one 68,000 SF facility, creating a distinct service zone for the campus. This central campus hub serves as the processing facility for all receiving, storage/delivery of materials, operations, and maintenance services.

Logistics were key to the success of this project. With campus space being very confined, two existing facilities were demolished before new construction began. A third building, which housed the mechanical systems for the hospital campus, remained operational throughout construction and was demolished once all new systems were fully operational.

The completed facility was awarded LEED Silver certification by the USGBC.

This project was selected as a finalist for both the Building St. Louis and Keystone Awards.
