Poettker Construction Co., headquartered in Breese, Ill., has collaborated with Ameren Corp. on more than 80 projects since 2016 for the utility’s Buildings & Facility Management Group as well as Transmission, Distribution, and Gas Service Groups.
Building a new warehouse on a more than 100-year-old confined medical campus proved to be a logistical challenge for officials at Jefferson Barracks.
In addition to serving a diverse list of clients, Poettker Construction Co. closed out 2018 with a project closer to home. It is building a new headquarters on land just south of the current location in Breese, Ill. The firm broke ground in July on the 39,400-square-foot multilevel office building and 12,000-square-foot warehouse facility.
Work is nearly halfway complete on the Pierce Terrace Elementary School at Fort Jackson, S.C. The new pre-K through second grade Department of Defense Education Activity school replaces the existing aging facility.
Poettker Construction Co. and its business partners donated $15,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois from proceeds raised at the 2018 Poettker Golf Classic “Building Children’s Futures.”
Poettker Construction Company has partnered with architecture and interior design firm Oculus Inc. to design and build a new corporate headquarters and warehouse in the company’s hometown of Breese, Ill. To celebrate continued growth and commitment to the local workforce, Poettker hosted employees and their guests, local dignitaries and the area business community for a special ground-breaking ceremony of the new corporate headquarters on Monday, July 9th.
It’s rare that a construction company is well ahead of schedule on a project. But that is the case with the Zodiac-Poettker joint venture project at Robins Air Force Base, Ga. This is the latest undertaking of the partnership formed by Poettker Construction of Breese, Ill., and Zodiac Inc. of St. Louis.

There was no other place Ryan Poettker wanted to be than at his family’s business, Poettker Construction Co. As a child he would often run away from his babysitter, his parents said, to head into the office.
Poettker Construction Co. is nearing completion of a new Outpatient Prep and Recovery addition to HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese, Ill. Construction began in September 2016 with a dedication scheduled for November 2017.
