Poettker Construction, in collaboration with its small business partner, was selected by the Missouri National Guard to construct a new cold storage aircraft hangar at Whiteman Air Force Base. Designed to support aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul operations, the project included a 28,800 SF pre-engineered hangar addition to an existing 2,500 SF utility support building. Project highlights include:

  • Construction of a 220-foot-wide hangar door to accommodate large aircraft
  • Over-excavation of a 9-foot subbase with stabilized soil placed in 6–8 inch lifts
  • Installation of more than 60,000 SF of airfield paving adjacent to active runways
  • Execution within a highly confined site near operational airfield and occupied facilities
