The USPFO for Illinois, 182 MSG/MSC, selected Poettker Construction and its small business partner to complete a full renovation of Squadron Operations Building 5008 at Scott Air Force Base. This project focused on enhancing the facility’s structural integrity, safety, and energy efficiency to better support mission readiness. To accelerate construction, the facility was vacated and temporary offices were used throughout the project. The renovation achieved LEED Silver Certification, reflecting a commitment to sustainability and high-performance building standards. Project highlights include:

  • Structural repairs to meet updated seismic classification requirements
  • Installation of blast-proof windows to comply with Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) standards
  • Roof repairs, including standing seam and thermoplastic membrane replacement
  • Loading dock ramp replacement with enhanced safety features
  • Interior reconfiguration and finish upgrades for improved functionality and aesthetics
  • Full MEP, fire protection, and communication system upgrades for energy efficiency
