Litchfield Elementary Schools
Location: Litchfield, IL | Owner: Litchfield CUSD #12 | Architect: FGM Architects, Inc.
Litchfield Community Unit School District #12 selected Poettker Construction as the Construction Manager to construct two new elementary schools in Litchfield, Illinois.
Poettker and the design team partnered with Litchfield CUSD #12 to analyze the existing elementary schools in the district and develop the best long-term growth solution for our community. Through a thorough facility review process, the district and its partners determined that building two new elementary schools is the best, most cost-effective plan and will save the district on long-term operating costs.
The new Litchfield State Street Elementary School is a multi-story, 42,000-square-foot elementary school that will house grades 2-5. The school will include classrooms, administrative offices, gymnasium/storm shelter, multi-purpose commons areas, and support facilities.
Programming is currently underway for the second elementary school, which will replace Madison Park Elementary, also in Litchfield, Illinois.
In addition to increasing facility efficiency and improving student safety, the consolidated, centralized facilities will streamline bus transportation and meal delivery from the district’s central kitchen.
